As the shift towards electric vehicles accelerates, businesses are struggling with fleet electrification and effective management. Amaury Gérard, CEO of Mbrella, points out that reducing carbon footprints is a priority for many companies, and the rush to electrify their fleets is their top priority. This is why, in collaboration with EDI, Mbrella launched Mbrella Charge the smartest EV charging solution ever seen. From deep insights in companies workforce's charging behaviour, to custom rule setting for more costs control, this solution is bound to supercharge companies’ fleet management by combining HR expertise with advanced charging solutions.

During our Crossroads event held early October, Tangi Merckx, CEO of EDI, emphasised that the rapid growth of charging infrastructure - from just a few to thousands of points in a matter of months - reflects the urgent need for efficient solutions. EDI aims to provide a high-quality service by simplifying the charging process and building long-term relationships with HR and fleet managers. This will improve reliability but also help mitigate risks associated with fleet management, ensuring that companies can avoid potential losses while optimising their electric vehicle operations.

With its charging pass & mobile app for employees and its intuitive desktop platform for Fleet & Mobility Managers, Mbrella Charge enables its users to get more control over electric fleet spend. With features such as electric fleet insights, cost control settings, home charging reimbursements, or anomaly detection, our electric fleet management tool’s got it all.

Indeed, Quinten Vandermeulen, Product Owner at Mbrella, highlighted two major challenges that Mbrella Charge will tackle: outdated charging solutions and the lack of control over fleet charging management. Through our partnership with Deftpower, Mbrella Charge has set up 18 automated checks to ensure error-free billing and complete control for HR and fleet managers.

As CEO of D’Ieteren Denis Gorteman explained, Mbrella Charge fills a critical gap in D’Ieteren’s strategy, making it easier for companies to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric alternatives. “At D'Ieteren we don’t aim at being a car provider, but rather a mobility provider” Denis said. The aim is to create a fluid and sustainable mobility experience for customers, integrating smoothly into HR processes.

Jacob van Zonneveld, CEO and co-founder of Deftpower, further emphasized the practical side of Mbrella Charge, which will only charge for actual energy consumed during the charging process, eliminating unnecessary costs.

Looking ahead, Quinten announced upcoming innovations like smart charging, which will allow companies to reduce energy costs by charging vehicles when electricity rates are the lowest. Amaury also mentioned that Mbrella Charge is ready to help clients optimize costs and prepare for the future, while Tangi highlighted the growing demand for ESG reporting, which Mbrella will soon also support automatically.
