2024's Mobility Winners: Discover our Golden Mbrellas
Mbrella presents...the first-ever edition of the Golden Mbrellas. After a deep dive into our data we’re turning the spotlight on individuals that have been driving the change in corporate sustainable mobility. Buckle up, 'cause here are the most remarkable commuting stories of 2024!
And the award goes to...
🌱 Sustainable Mobility Champion: ING
ING has taken the fast lane to sustainability by putting the brakes on traditional mobility solutions. With +16 000 sustainable mobility benefits distributed in the company, they're proof that being a large organisation and having a small carbon footprint can go hand in hand. ING, keep doing your thing.
🚲 Peloton of the Year: RGF Staffing Belgium
Hold onto your handlebars, because RGF Staffing Belgium is on a roll! Their employees have been wheeling their way to work as a peloton in 2024, recording the highest cycling distances per user. We are talking about an average of 511km per employee and 53 662km for the whole team. Rain or shine (okay, mostly rain - we're in Belgium after all), these dedicated cyclists proved that two wheels are better than four. Taking opportunities for life, their quads are impressive, and so is their carbon footprint reduction!
And to some very special people…
🚴 Cyclist of the year
With an impressive cycling log that would make professional athletes jealous, Geert, employee at Vantiva Technologies, has turned his daily commute into a personal sustainability mission, with already +13000 kms pedaled this year. In 2024, he’s not just been commuting; he’s been redefining the boundaries of what a work journey can look like, pushing the edge of what’s possible.
🚌 Commuter of the year
Just like it's mission states, Just Eat Takeaway Express, has been empowering everyday convenience to its employee Tariq! Leaving Liege's industrial charm to rejoin Antwerp's diamond city almost everyday this year, he has logged more kilometers between these two cities than most intercity tour guides. In case you’re wondering, we’re talking about 38 000+ km.
🚴Time trialist of the year
Tired of train delays derailing his connections, Patrick decided to grasp the nettle - or should we say his handlebars? This ING employee has become a cycling superhero who pedals twice a week, turning connection nightmares into an epic single-day ride from Herentals to Brussels. His record? 98km one way! Amaï!
